Lawyer cancels woman’s news conference about Tiger Woods

A news conference called to discuss a woman’s relationship with Tiger Woods was abruptly canceled by her lawyer Thursday.
Gloria Allred, the celebrity lawyer representing Rachel Uchitel, cited “unforeseen circumstances” when she announced the cancellation Thursday morning.
Rachel Uchitel denied having an affair with Woods after tabloids reported it last week, before allegations emerged linking him to another woman and before the golfer apologized for his “transgressions.”
Uchitel, who works in New York, flew to Los Angeles Sunday to consult with Allred, a lawyer whose own Web site calls her the “most famous woman attorney practicing law in the nation.”
Allred e-mailed journalists Wednesday saying she would “make a statement about Ms. Uchitel’s relationship with Tiger Woods” at her Los Angeles law office Thursday.
